‘We advance on our journey only when we face our goal, we are confident and believe we are going to succeed’ ~Orison Swett Marden
The Tema International School Creative Writing and Photography Workshop, established in 2014, enters its sixth year this October. Over this period, the endeavour of nurturing young minds in the creative arts has in addition to impacting the lives of both facilitators and students, churned out five editions of the anthology, Whispers, which has given young creative minds the platform to showcase their art.
In the past five years, more than 500 students from high schools in Ghana have benefited from these workshops. As has always been the case, this year’s edition promises to unearth and discover talents in the field of photography, screenplay, blogging, poetry, short story writing and public speaking. The theme for this year’s conference is ‘shaping the world through our creativity ‘. The two-day workshop is scheduled for Friday, 18 October and Saturday, 19 October, 2019.
During the workshop, each student will participate in one main session, such as animation, short story, poetry or photography facilitated by a resource person. Participants will also benefit from an enrichment session in an area other than their prime area which will be facilitated by a different resource person.
Registration for the workshop is from 23 September to 10 October, 2019. Interested students are requested to complete their registration forms and submit them to the Department of Language and Literature or to Tema International School Front Desk by 10 October, 2019.
