Interact Club of TIS – 1st Anniversary
Hurray!!!! The Interact Club of TIS is 1.
How time flies. It seems like just yesterday when the Interact Club was inducted into the Rotary fraternity under the sponsorship of the Rotary Club of Legon. The night of our induction was an event to remember. We had lots of support from other clubs and from the entire TIS community. We had a successful fundraiser which enabled the club to embark on their first successful project; the purchase of an incubator to the Tema General Hospital. Following this feat, the club has had talk sessions from prominent members of the Rotary Club, talks about learning, importance of service, balanced dietary, self-esteem among others. We were also named the most promising club last summer, 2018.
To mark this day, the club purchased a sachet of fan yogurt to the entire school and printed stickers to be pasted on laptops and lockers to commemorate the club and to have the students join in on the celebration.
The club has many future plans to impact their community and with a huge membership being Grade 12, the club is more focused on retaining and getting on new members in order to accomplish their goals. As the time is drawing near, we would honour Anna Maria Poku (Alumna IB Class of 2018), the charter president for her time, for her dedication, initiative and service and to Kirk Alistair (G 12) and Sedo (G 12) for their efforts in making sure the club is in order after a year.
We wish all members a happy first Anniversary and may we all be great in our quest to make a difference in our community.
Enjoy the rest of your day.
