Dear Parents

Please find below an open letter from an alumna in the 2019 cohort.

From: Yanmife Fajemirokun (TIS Alumna- Class of 2019)

Current University: University of Waterloo, Canada

Subject: Greetings and Advice

Happy New Year! I’m so sorry for contacting you after all these months! I hope everything is going well on your side and at TIS.

  • I just wanted to advise DPs about choosing their country of university early because doing that will allow you to be aware of the place you would want to apply for the visa.
  • Applying for the visa too must be done early, especially when applying for a visa to Canada. Around May and June, that is when there is a rush from high school students and even those travelling to Canada or any other country for holidays to apply for the visa. I started applying for my visa online in March, which made everything easier because I just had to go for my biometrics and there are also fewer complications with applying online.
  • Also, if you can book an appointment for biometrics, do so because at some point very early because this will help to avoid disappointments.

Happy Applications to the DP2s! Goodluck in the mocks! ~ Mife ‘19

Enjoy the rest of your day!
